Hello all,
I visited the "flagship" store of Jaeger le Coultre in Kuala Lumpur (Bukit Binang) last week and was informed by the very knowledgable sales person that the entire Master Compressor line will be discontinued (or as he expressed it, no new watches with the typical compressor crowns will be produced). Can anyone confirm?
Personally, I consider it a pitty, as the Master Compressor line (and the compressor crowns) represent, to me at least, a very seldom seen innovation in sports watch visual appearance.

Jaeger-LeCoultre Deep Sea Chronograph | Luxury watches | Jaeger-LeCoultre
Apologies if this has been asked before, I didn't find a similar thread when I searched.
I am primarily a wearer of dress watches, and always thought sport watches looked TOO sporty for someone like me, who is never going to go deep sea diving or race in the Daytona 500. But in my search for a more casual watch, I came across the JLC Deep Sea Chronograph. It really appealed to me. I like that it has features of both a chronograph and a dive watch, and that it is a bit more subtle than other sport and dive watches (just a bit, but every little bit helps.)
My one issue with it is that
AFAIK it isn't available with a metal strap, which I would think would be a perfect match for it. Is there any way to fit it with an aftermarket metals trap, or would I be limited to a NATO or Zulu strap? This may be an obvious question but I don't own a single metal strap watch.

Hello. I'm surprised to see complete silence over here on the recent releases of JLC watches at the SIHH 2016. Just thought to invite mates to discuss new novelties, some of them are really good like Reverso Duo.

With all the talk of discontinued models, I hopped on the JLC website to see if my target watch was still there and to my horror, it has been removed. The Tribute to Deep Sea Alarm model has been removed.
I did a little more looking around and it seems like all of their alarm models have been removed from the site.
I haven't seen anything from SIHH indicating there are new alarm models.
Anyone have any ideas why the alarm models have gotten the boot?

Hi,
Can anyone provide me more info about this JLC that just came in my possession. My friend says its from the 70s. Crown is signed and so is the buckle. Any more info is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It seems this watch has a polarized fan-club and either you love it or hate it; nothing in between.
What is it about this watch that people LUST over for months only to flip a few weeks or months after they own it? Is it the thrill of the chase? Is the watch underwhelming for the price paid? Is the simple understated elegance
too understated and borderline boring? :-s

After spending the last few weeks turning over every stone I could find on the perfect white/silver-dialed watch something that could wear formally with ease, yet wouldn't look out of place on a distressed leather strap with jeans. Leading the spectrum were options from Nomos, Montblanc and Zenith, but I keep coming back to the 39mm Master Control (139.84.20) and its 37mm predecessor (140.8.89), which has led me to the following three questions:
1) Is the most current 39mm iteration really worth the extra coin? By all appearances, I'd be getting a 'newer' movement negating the need for an imminent service, and a sapphire caseback... Is that really it?
2) I've seen some 37mm variants that exhibited yellowing of the luminous points, and others with more 'modern' looking luminova. Did JLC switch from tritium to SL at some point in this particular Master Control's manufacturing period? Is there a different serial number for the newer variants?
3) Are there any other notable differences between the 37 and the 39mm? I'm assuming the case is subtly different, but I can't tell much more.
Right now, I'm leaning towards the 37mm, simply out of want for a smaller case. Plus, I think the gold medallion on the caseback is extremely cool.

Hello, everyone, I've been lurking amongst the shadows for a little while now, reading, absorbing information and of course admiring the fantastic watches that my fellow members own.
Circumstances have forced me to emerge from the shadows as I have been given a conundrum that I cannot myself solve.
I have had my eye on the SS Geophysic for a while now, fully aware that production was limited to 800 pieces and that I will probably have to source one from outside the circle of ADs.
However, my dealer recently informed me that they had one in stock for approximately USD8500. The question is, therefore, should I bite?
Thanks in advance.

I've been contemplating the idea of a great tank type and the Reverso is the one that continually catches my eye. There are many, very, very, nice tanks out there, but the Reverso sings to me. Of course there is the JLC heritage and the Reverso is an undeniable classic. So, as I begin my learning phase, are there any models I should avoid, some better or worse etc? My budget will most likely keep me in the used/vintage realm as I would like to keep the purchase <3k. Thanks for the help!

Hello!
For a while I've had an itch for a triple calendar watch. I went back and forth between the Jaeger LeCoultre Master Calendar and Jaeger LeCoultre Grande Reverso Calendar. After trying them both on, I settled on the former. The Reverso was beautiful but I felt the guilloche dial would attract too much attention. It was also a bit large for my wrist.
Now that I have the Master Calendar, I thought that it's time for my 2007 Master Hometime to find a new home. However, I'm struggling to let go of it. Whilst I prefer the size of the Master Calendar (39mm with a smaller bezel, compared to 40mm with a wider bezel), as well as its day and month functions and its symmetry, I find the Hometime easier to read (due to minute markings and a simpler face) and less conspicuous (the moonphase on the MC attracts attention).
I think that I will stick with the Master Calendar and sell the Master Hometime but thought I'd open up the question to others for their views.
Sorry about the quality of the photos!

Hello JLC afficionados, long time lurker but relatively new to watches and not fully slid down the slippery slope.
I have one watch at the moment - a Damasko DA37 which I purchased in 2009 and still appreciate very much. Still, as it's my only watch I'm finding myself beginning to think of picking up a second.
The Damasko is an aviator, high legibility watch, for my second I am wanting a dress watch. After starting my research I find myself drawn to either the JLC MUT Moon (1368420):
or the MUT Marche de Réserve (1378420):
I'm not a big fan of gold, so I'd be going for either in SS.
How do people here see the ins and outs of these two models as a dress watch? I've got fairly big (21.5 cm - 8 1/2 inch) wrists.

Good morning guys,
Hope everyone is having an excellent New Year so far. I'm wondering if anyone here has a Tribute to Deep Sea U.S. version in their collection. I see a ton of European versions on here, but I'm not drawn to it as much. The look and style of the U.S. is perfect in my opinion, and I'm looking to acquire one soon and any input/thoughts/opinions would be greatly appreciate. This will be my first Jaeger and I'm pretty excited. Thanks everyone!

I'm ready to jump into my third watch, and I've decided to go JLC. I think I've narrowed my options down to two pieces (Q3738420 & Q3788570). I would love to hear any suggestions, comments, facts, and opinions regarding these two. Im also open to recommendations to other pieces under 10k. I want to build a solid, timeless collection. Thanks !:-!

Somewhere I read that the Powermatic was the first watch featuring a power reserve indicator, ever.
That reason alone should positively impact the prices for this watches... not to mention the JLC asociation printed on the dial (I do know LeCoultre isn't exaclty JLC...)
However, they tend to be relatively cheaper when compared with similarly aged Reversos or such (the iconic (?) wathces of JLC)...
A friend of mine has this watch in the solid 14k version and in a more than acceptable condition... how much should I pay for it? Is 1350 too high?
I mean, after googling I see there are a lot of variants and a lot of prices...
This is it:

Hi,
Still very new, and excited to receive a factory fresh Master Ultra Thin Moon 39. Maybe 6 weeks away!
I am looking for a slightly more padded strap than the one that is provided with the watch. I'm also leaning towards getting it in dark Navy Blue.
1) I would like to re-use the deployant clasp on this aftermarket strap. Is that possible?
2) Here are the specs that I am considering on Camille Fournet, is it normal to obsess this much about a strap? Haha
CONFIGURATION
MATERIAL : MATTE SQUARE-SCALED ALLIGATOR (034) -
COLOR : NAVY BLUE (008) -
LENGTH : GENT XS - 105 / 65MM - STRAP LOCATED AT 6:00 / STRAP LOCATED AT 12:00 -
TYPE OF FITTING AT CASE : CURVED -
TIP : OGIVE -
HOLES : ROUND HOLES -
PROFILE : ROUND -
FINISH : WAXED EDGES -
THREAD COLOR : TONE ON TONE -
LINING : NAVY BLUE CAOUTCHOUC CALF LEATHER (087008) -
BUCKLE : 'CF'' MODEL - STAINLESS STEEL BUCKLE -
WIDTH : 21/18 MM - AT THE CASE/AT THE BUCKLE -
THICKNESS : 4.5 MM -
STITCHING : MACHINE STITCHED STANDARD THREAD - STITCHED AT THE BUCKLE -
WATCH MODEL : JAEGER LECOULTRE MASTER ULTRA THIN MOON REF. 1368420
Reading through the forum, especially this thread (Camille Fournet straps how long to arrive), I now have a pretty good idea of what would suit this watch, would really like the opinion of any fellow strap enthusiasts!

All of the great posts and pics here inspired me to look into JLC. I've mainly been a sportswatch guy but had a slight need for a dressier watch. I had the chance to try this MUT in the flesh and it really pushed my buttons. When I don't feel like wearing a watch, I want to wear this one - it is that comfortable. I think it will get a lot of wrist time. And as you can see, it can go from walking the dog to business class with ease.

Very happy to finally have a JLC on the wrist! After serious consideration I settled for the Geographic model from 2009. Initially I had my eyes on the current Geographic as well as the Calendar but I really found the face and details on this model more in line with what I was looking for.
