JLC fans and devotees, greetings!
Last week I finally allowed myself to put a Reverso on my wrist, and I'll tell you somehow, sometime I taking one home.
I've eyed this JLC icon for a couple of years now, ever since I allowed myself to indulge a latent interest in fine wristwatches. And what a marvel the Reverso is. At the AD's, I tried on a number of models, but what looked best on my wrist was a Classic Small Seconds. Besides being the right size, the Classic had a weight and informality that just fit me. (The Tributeto which I was rather immediately attractedjust looked a bit undernourished. Not that my wrists are so large at 7.25"/18.5 cm. Perhaps it is just the fact that I'm retired and dress down, rather than up, most of the time.) I'd never before tried on a rectangular watch, and yet hello! It just looked right.
However doubting that I'll have either the means or the years left with/in which to own several, I've noted older designs I find intriguing, most notably the Grand Reserve 8 Day (love the offset seconds). Yet a part of me feels that to "have it all" I need to find a model that features two faces. So a choice is brewing.
Now it's time for your thoughts Other styles you'd call my attention to? Sensitivity to service interval? New vs. Pre-owned? Your feedback will be so appreciated!
Have good weekends, all, and thanks in advance for your input.
Best regards,
Fred Halgedahl
