Can anybody give me any information ion this watch? I can't find any matches for it, the closest match was this one:
Early and 100% Original Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox Cal 814 in 10k Gold Filled Case
I am reluctant to continue to try to get it open. It runs fine, the alarm works, and I have put a nice scratch, well, "gouge" is more like it, trying to pop the caseback off.
I am trying to figure out if it is automatic or hand-winding, if it is a jaeger, if it is a memovox, if it is "cal 814" (whatever that means), and if it is circa 1953 - that part looks pretty true, at least from my intuition, it looks like a 1950's watch.
No, I can't yet figure out if it is self-winding. I wind both of the crowns, but nothing happens. Only after I pull out the crowns and reset the time and alarm, push them back in, then the hands start moving. So i'm thinking, either it needs a little nudge to start going, or all the wrist movement has started a self-winding mechanism inside. Here's some photos:
