JLC deployant

I recently got a JLC butterfly deployant to replace the tang buckle for my Reverso... I've used a push button deployant in the past, but this style is a bit new for me. Is the proper way to take it off to basically yank it off the folding portion? (Which is basically what I've been doing, short of a better way) On the underside of one end it says "Push here" but that doesn't really seem to move any component or make it any easier to remove.
