So, it's not the most popular model, a vintage piece around my birthyear'ish. But it contains an awesome movement, and was one of my early realistic grails when the hobby bug really took hold. Found via Chrono24, and then secured and shipped via myGermany.com. Bought from a private seller who sucked, and dealt with the myGermany.com folks whom were fantastic. I paid a concierge fee, which made the piece a bit more than I had originally wanted to spend, but all in all, totally worth it. Watch was in the old stock of a Jewelry store that was about to go out of business. They marked the watch half-off, and while the outer box aged horribly (lots of flaking and cracking, abrasion wear), the inner contents were still in magnificent condition. Gave to my local watch repair guy to put in two links, and the bracelet fits perfectly now.
My wife, whom is a year younger, also got an Albatros, for a his and hers set. I wanted a lady's moonphase, but those things are so hard to find, so in time. She loves her watch, it's totally usurped a Nomos Tetra. The weight, and quartz/manual movement, are big draws. Aesthetically, both rank high for her. (Hers was an ebay purchase.)
Now, for the PICTURES!
