This has been my dream watch for quite some time but I've noticed something that has shattered my "lust" for this time piece.

Can anyone explain why JLC decided to add a side button on the bottom left side of the case? What does this button control on the dial?
Given JLC's expertise in creating complex movements, could they not just work this mechanism into the movement itself without the side button?
Every time I see a side button like that, it reminds me of a fake watch with movements too basic to support a complex dial.
Thanks!
