Hi, following my question on the Reverso's proportion in this thread, I was looking to place an order with my local AD. Prior to that, I have actually visited a boutique and noticed that my wife would require a small sized strap instead of the default medium sized one. I conveyed this requirement to my AD who then relayed it to the local distributor to place a new factory order. However, I was subsequently advised by my AD that the distributor had explained that it is not possible as all watches can only be ordered in the standard sized strap and the customer will then have to purchase the desired size themselves.
I could understand if some customers may have already purchased the watch and found the length of the strap to be unsuitable or that the strap only comes in one size from the manufacturer. But I really do not understand this restriction given that there are indeed three available strap-lengths and it's a new factory order itself. Isn't it good service to see a customer walk out of the store with a rightly-sized strap?
Secondly, upon paying a 20% deposit now (which is reasonable), I will be subjected to any price increase at the point of receiving the watch since the wait time for the watch may be as long as a few months and likely in 2018. I thought about it and found it to be contrary to my usual experience. By paying the deposit now, is it not reasonable to commit the price regardless of future fluctuations?
Maybe my expectations are set too high and these policies are indeed standard. But it's really enough to turn me away from the brand despite how much I like the Reversos. I really wish to seek some clarifications with people who can provide them in a more official manner such as the Swiss HQ itself but couldn't quite find any avenues to contact them. Do wish to seek some advice here. Thanks.
