All,
I desperately want/need a 60's JLC Memovox, preferably in gold. I realize this is a highly collectible watch and has probably seen some recent resurgence since Don Draper decided to wear one in the Mad Men TV series. My questions are:
What's the movement to own? cal 815/825 bumper automatic? Are earlier manual wind editions as collectible? (i wouldnt mind a manual wind in this watch; adds to its charm in my opinion)
Whats a fair price? - I know this is tough but im seeing theM for 5k and upwards for the cal 825's in gold in good condition. Seems high for the uncertainty of buying-without-seeing and from mostly overseas/german dealers with little to no guarantees.
Any insight/help/personal experience here with memovox's or really any successful vintage purchases are appreciated. thank you for you TIME.
