For the JLC aficionados amongst us, I have a question on movements. I've Googled some, but I'm still not quite certain.
I had once owned a Jaeger-LeCoultre Geophysic LE, Q8008520 which was equipped with a 898/1 movement. Obviously it was a wonderful and accurate watch. I now have a Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Control Date, Q1548420 inbound. It is fitted (as I understand it) with a 899/1.
My question really is, Are these the exact same movement? Substantially the same in every generally perceptible way? or fairly different?
I recall my GeoP buzzing when you'd move your hand and the weight would swing. I'm hoping to hear the same with this movement! hehe. Other than that, just really curious why the different cal. numbers?
