Well I've been on the hunt for my first Rolex and I just haven't found anything that totally grabbed me. So yesterday I took a trip to the mall to take a chance on the new Sea-Dweller being available: no luck. I did try on the new Datejust 41 in the exact configuration I was looking for but it was another bust. Nice watch, but no love connection.
Since I was already at the mall, I decided to also pop in to the IWC and Omega shops. But, I already have watches from those guys so it was a quick browse. I was almost ready to go when I noticed the JLC store. The place was empty so I decided to look around. The salesman was very helpful (I think he was bored and happy to have the distraction) and after looking at a few odds and ends I asked about the reverso duo. I've seen them in magazines and online but the rectangular case is hard to picture "on wrist." He had options in gold in the display case but nothing in steel. I told the salesman my budget wouldn't "float that boat" but he insisted on showing them to me anyway. After trying on a couple beautiful watches I was ready to go when the salesman remembered he had a steel reverso in the back. Well, to finally cut to the chase, I think I've found my next watch. It really spoke to me in a way no Rolex ever has. So here's my future lady. Someday sweetheart you will be mine. Oh yes, you will be mine!
