I have a JLC Reverso Squadra GMT Chronograph, <10 yrs old, bought new.
Despite changing dates properly, the date started to get stuck on certain #s (11, for instance), so I decided to send it to get fixed.
Not only that the quote for "Complete Service at the Factory" is excessive ($924), but they recommended replacement of the crown and the 2 push-pieces (additional $900) because "they no longer provide water resistance".
I have 2 questions:
Is that how expensive it is to repair a JLC?
How can (rarely used) pieces (crown, push-pieces) can get "bad" when such quality watch is supposed to work fine for decades?
Thank you.
