Is JLC Dead in the U.S.??

Before you bite my head off for making such a statement let me elaborate!!

I recently got the itch for a SubC No Date and I spent the better part of this morning poking around with well renowned forum sellers of Rolex.

I've been torn between selling or keeping my JLC Geophysic True Second and every time I look at that dial and movement I just fall in love with it again, it's the power reserve that kills it and I'm not very fond of winders, anyways.... The point is:

Had pretty decent offers from all but one which of course shall remain anonymous out of Respect, Courtesy and Ethic.

I got an offer for roughly 37% of retail which was quite surprising to say the least considering its bought through and AD just in February of This year, I know he has to make a profit I perfectly understand.

But what set me off was the comment about how he could never sell it for what I was asking perhaps in Europe but JLC was dead in the U.S.

To each his own I guess, some sellers value some brands more than others but I was truly not expecting that from a well known seller.

I'm probably going to keep my Geophysic Now, I can always find a sub later on.Subs are a dime a dozen in the forums.
