Hi Guys
carrying on from a post on the public forum.
I am trying to choose a watch for my 50th - in the 5000-7000 euro range.
down to a choice of 3 - Omega Railmaster Trilogy, Cartier Santos and JLC Master Control Date.
I favor the JLC bit the wife favors the Railmaster and also says the Santos is more classic.
there is a good thread on here showing master controls on casual straps which has helped my decision process. The Railmaster doesnt fit under a cuff and the Santos can be dressy but will sometimes be too flashy for my style. Looking at the Master Control v the Santos I just feel I get a better technical product, very classic look that will still suit me when I am 70 and something that will be a good heirloom. Plus that beautiful case back !
couple of questions
- while at the AD I saw a Memovox on sale for similar price to the Master Control - I dont like the two pushers compared to the single crown of the Master Control but should I bring that Memovox into the equation ?
- if you have a Master Control is there anything you dont like about it ?
- old models are 39mm but the new ones 40mm and that is the top end of my range. Does the Master Control wear quite big ? My existing dress watch is a quite old Glashutte Senator 36mm and my daily wear is a 38mm Speedy.
- on the JLC website I see some models advertised with alternate straps and in this case I would like a brown and a black strap - is that possible or do I have to sort it out myself ?
thanks for any help !
