Reverso question about impact resistance

Hello,

We all know Reverso was created to protect crystal from shocks during Polo games...but my question is: how good is its protection concerning the mechanism against impact since we all know that mechanical watches don’t like shocks and it’s too much expensive repairing a movement than changing a crystal.
