2 Years Service Warranty and 8 Years Manufacture Warranty Transfer to New Owner

I have recently found out that my watch (JLC Master Geographic) which was purchased as pre-owned was serviced by an official JLC service centre for some reason through JLC client relations department. The thing was that they could provide me with the date of the last service but nothing more. It was only a few days ago when I noticed GMT hands in the sub-dial malfunctioning (Please refer to the posting titled "JLC Master Geographic: GMT function not working... Plus more defects" if you are interested). Now it matters a lot to me if this service taken place last May (before my purchase) was due to the same reason or not. This way I can take advantage of the two years service warranty which should be valid till May of 2020. However, the employee from client relations department wasn't able to confirm if I can take advantage of this or not until they receive my watch and emphasized that the service was done under a different registrant... This is total non-sense to me. Usually for a case where the watch was transferred with the warranty period left, the new owner has all the rights of the warranty. Does anyone can answer this or had similar experiences?

Regarding the new 8 year warranty, I was also told that the ownership matters due to the fact the watch needs to be registered under the name... Does this mean if you ever purchase a pre-owned JLC, you will never take advantage of the new 8 year warranty period?

This was my first purchase of a pre-owned watch which I have never done before. I always prefer to get a new watch from an AD. I guess it was a huge mistake...
